Powerslide Description
For paddlers who appreciate speed, precision turns, wave surfing, and seamless transitions off drops while navigating downriver, this kayak is an ideal choice.
The Powerslide features a stern inspired by slalom design, incorporating a low-rocker profile that enhances propulsion both downstream and upstream, as well as during ferries and tight eddy turns. A subtle kick rocker positioned just behind the seat allows for smooth carving through S-turns and across currents, making it easy to catch on-the-fly waves. The chines provide a responsive, carving sensation with a loose, fluid feel. Like many contemporary slalom boats, the stern is designed with a low profile to enable quick pivots and facilitate stern stalls and splats.
The midsection of the kayak has been narrowed to improve glide efficiency. This streamlined design also contributes to a snug yet comfortable cockpit, allowing paddlers to shift effortlessly from edge to edge during carving maneuvers. A flat, wide, hard-chined hull keeps the kayak planing and spinning on the water’s surface. Additionally, a significant amount of bow rocker ensures the kayak resurfaces quickly after drops and continues to skip downstream.
Blending the agility and speed of modern slalom designs with a playful planing hull and advanced bow rocker, the Powerslide offers a dynamic paddling experience that redefines river performance.
